Uncharted 2 Getting More Competitive via DLC, Probably Not More Cooperative
by Chris Faylor, Oct 07, 2009 2:40pm PDTAs Naughty Dog prepares to release its latest PlayStation 3 exclusive on October 13, the company has confirmed that it will support Uncharted 2 with downloadable content, though the new stuff may be limited to its competitive multiplayer mode.
"What you'll probably see is more of the competitive type: more maps, more modes," designer Justin Richmond told Eurogamer. "The co-op stuff is hugely time-intensive and the size of it--the physical download size--is huge, so that's probably not an option."
A demo sampling the game's co-op and competitive multiplayer, but not its single-player campaign, is currently available as a free download in the PlayStation 3's online store.
"I'm not going to say never," Richmond added, offering a faint sliver of hope to cooperative enthusiasts. "But for the foreseeable future we're not going to be doing that."

I love the MP, but the co-op is also really fun. Especially when you don't feel like dealing with whiny 12-year-olds or wannabe gangstas :P
I can almost understand the story missions being too big, but I certainly hope any new maps also get corresponding survival and gold rush modes for co-op.
