Red Alert 3: Commander's Challenge Arrives in the PlayStation Store Next Week

By Chris Faylor, Sep 16, 2009 10:40am PDT The standalone downloadable release of Red Alert 3's "Commander's Challenge" mode will arrive on the PlayStation 3 come September 24, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.

Developed by EA LA, the $10 download packs the 50 challenge maps that originally premiered in the game's PC-only "Uprising" expansion.

Highlights range from "armies of Japanese school girls and giant Soviet war bears to wrestling legend Ric Flair," said EA LA producer Wes Eckhart, who further added that the download packs "more than thirty hours of...RTS entertainment" and represents "the ultimate RTS gameplay experience console players have been waiting for."

As with the Xbox 360 version, which hit today, the PS3 release of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Commander's Challenge does not require a copy of Red Alert 3.
