Serious Sam HD Screenshots Get Explosive

A few new screenshots from Croteam's high-def revamp of Serious Sam: The First Encounter have arrived, illustrating the various weapons and foes of the co-op shooter. For example, headless foes that rush you with what look to be old-school bombs.

Publisher cdv was quite clear that these screenshots came from the PC edition, which is due out this fall at an as-yet-unkown price point. Meanwhile, a downloadable Xbox 360 edition is due to hit Xbox Live Arcade later this summer for 1200 MS Points ($15).

Looks hot! Instant purchase.

Who thinks all devs should start taking their old libraries (that are good of course) and give them a HD remake with a nice new fresh coat of paint along with a few new cookies added in.

Make this a common practice and sell their remakes and give back to the community while in turn raising money to make proper sequels?

Seems like winning formula…

Wow, this looks pretty damn cool. It'd really, really benefit from soft particles though. Some of the explosions look like they're clipping weirdly.

Either way: fuck it, I'm buying. On the PC.

Woohoo! Finally they're going back to their roots! Serious Sam II sucked so bad, I went back to the store that same day to get a refund. I hope that Co-op will be a good as a remember it being.

Oh thank god, it looks like they failed at grittying it up. From the last article it sounded like they were trying to make it into Gears of War. This is acceptable. Can't wait.

Has it really been so long? Damn.
I remember downloading the tech demo/beta and being blown away by the cutting edge graphics. Now of course the original games look really dated with horrible textures.

I can't remember any other co-op FPS that was as much fun to play on-line as Serious Sam and I'm glad its getting a fresh coat of paint. If they port it over to PC and put it on STEAM I would defiantly buy it.
