New Battlefield 1943 Screens Buzz By

According to recent comment from developer DICE, the downloadable Battlefield 1943 probably won't make it out on PS3 and Xbox 360 for another week or two. As a consolation, have a look at some new screenshots (below) in the meantime.

Three remade maps are planned for the 24-player multiplayer game: Wake Island, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima. A fourth map, Coral Sea, will eventually be available following community challenges.

The PC version of the $15 game will be released sometime in September.

I was going to give EA/DICE another chance (BF2 was a BIG disappointment with their retarded patches, breaking the game even more with every new patch), but when I heard heard that console kiddies will be playing this like a month earlier than PC owners then I immediately changed my mind; f*ck DICE!

I really hope it mimics the original 1942 in terms of playing with AI bots. Like how you can raise AI up to like 200 % or something like that. Then you just pick and side and go at it. I loved that feature because I don't play games that long and to play like 20 to 30 minutes with the AI bots was a treat. Hopefully those features gets tossed back in the PC version of 1943.

hopefully it's fun enough for the $15... that can't be that hard a goal for them to achieve. 4 maps might get tiresome though. and I hope the console rank/achievement whoring idiots actually play to WIN the damn round and not other objectives.
