  I have a pair of Shure SE115s that I'm pretty happy with so far. Also owned Etymotics and UE super.fi 3s. The Etymotics lasted a year (cord was thin, didn't hold up to daily use) and suffered from some pretty bad cable noise. The Ultimate Ears were durable as hell, but extremely irritating to wear (they loop over the ears, and the part of the cable that loops over is stiffened with something internal, causes them to fall out while exercising). The Shures seem more durable than the etymotics and have better bass than both other option. They also are easier to put on. The one caveat is that they have a two part cord, and the connector between the two is pretty heavy, this might cause a problem while running/working out (haven't had a chance to try them out in the gym yet, been a lazy slob lately).
