Evening O'Reading
by Alice O'Connor, Apr 17, 2009 6:00pm PDTOh, is the week over already? Doesn't time fly when you're having fun! Now, I collapse into a slumber so deep only true love or screeching children outside could rouse me.
If you like video games you're in luck, because this is a video games website:
- Street Fighter 4 to get free tournament mode.
- GTA: Chinatown Wars sales are disappointingly low, you bums.
- Staggering Demigod piracy figures.
- Earth 2160 is finally fixed on Steam, huzzah!
- F.E.A.R. 2 patch with Toy Soliders maps arrives, trailers still awesome.
- Terror of Left 4 Dead Survival Pack conveyed by graphs.
Kinect for Xbox One coming to PC
Xbox One does not provide any built-in DVR capabilities
Xbox One increases friends lists to 1,000
Xbox One achievements dynamic, not limited to single games

I got a couple rolls of medium format film developed and scanned the other day and a few came out pretty cool. I just love the hazy feel of the photos although sometimes the camera freaks out with bright lights.

To be more specific re: exposure it seemed like you were metering for the sky rather than the subjects, in the shots where the sky is present.
Well shooting 160 iso certainly isn't stupid on a day like that where you might expect to be shooting in direct sunlight, but then when you get in the shade or indoors it becomes limiting. I've been in that situation a lot of times and sometimes switched film which gets to be really annoying after a while. So now I carry 2 bodies when I can and load one with 100-400 iso and one with 800-1600, and even then sometimes I want more options! 100 instead of 400! Colour in my low-light body instead of my daylight body!
Then you realize that you care way too much about stupid details and go back to carrying only 1 body with kodak tri-x and the world is somehow so serene.
