Wolfenstein Multiplayer Screenshots Leaked?
by Nick Breckon, Mar 16, 2009 1:48pm PDTA large batch of environment screenshots from Raven's upcoming shooter Wolfenstein have apparently leaked onto the internet today.
An industry source directed Shacknews to this Photobucket gallery, which supposedly contains a number of screenshots sourced from Wolfenstein's multiplayer maps. The images, labeled "property of id Software," depict scenes consistent with the game's dark World War II setting and id Tech 4 engine.
When contacted for information on the images, an Activision rep responded: "The screens in question were not distributed by Activision or approved by Activision, and thus Activision cannot confirm their authenticity."
Shacknews has also contacted project overseer id Software.
Wolfenstein, the next chapter of the World War II-era Wolfenstein franchise, is scheduled to hit stores this summer on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

In ET maps weren't as good, the gameplay wasn't as balanced, the game had a noobish feel to it. Splash Damage was probably the worst choice for developing the series. They never got the game. Enemy Territory:Quakewars is proof of that.
Splash Damage ruined the initial concept of RTCW. RTCW is the best fps multiplayer game in the history of internet. The problem is that the majority of the world hasn't really played it. They play a little ET and have no idea what they missed from the original.
Let's hope this RTCW 2 is closer to the original, then the hacked up garbage versions of ET & ET:QW.
These screen shots give me some hope.

OMG OMG OMG I hope they bring in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory's multiplayer. That would make this an instant buy for me.

Summer is usually a dead-zone for game releases. Anyone else tired of the release trend, or is it just me? Or am I simply imagining things?

Some of the later screenshots remind me of the map where you move the train back and forth between railyards (like the payload maps from TF2).
Do you think they are going to port over the Enemy Territory gameplay system to the new Wolf game?
