Morning Discussion
by Chris Faylor, Mar 16, 2009 7:06am PDTMonday, already? It seems like I barely got anything accomplished this weekend.
Really, I just played an hour or two Resident Evil 5, co-created and tested a Peggle drinking game, cleaned the apartment, watched some Wire, and read a few chapters of Snow Crash. The rest of the time, I was either sleeping or doing something here.
There were also about five minutes spend on a hammock. Hammock weather, at last!
On the plus side, um, I've got another chance at the weekend here in a couple days?

So, I signed up for a trial account and ended up joining some random corp down in Gallente territory, but I feel like I'm floating around aimlessly waiting for my skills to increase. Is there a guide out there that would get me a good taste of everything and explain to me the basics. (I still have no idea what happens if I die...But I guess that's a good thing).

The whole "get the bigger ship!!!!11" mentality of new pilots drives me up the fucking walls, and it has far more to do with how absolutely fun it is to fly smaller ships in PvP as opposed to just skill training. Some of the most fun I've had in PvP have been in Interceptors.
Don't just train for the bigger ship for the sake of having a bigger ship. Find something that really interests you, and specialize. Think about a side career instead of just pure combat. There's so many rewarding things to do in Eve that don't require a T2 fit BS.
