Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles Hits This Winter; Wii Also Getting Resident Evil, RE Zero Ports

As expected, Capcom today officially announced Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. The sequel to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, the Wii light-gun shooter hits this winter, revisiting the events of Resident Evil 2 and other games.

Capcom also revealed that Wii ports of the more traditional Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero entries are coming to North America under the Resident Evil "Classics" line. Both releases are based on the GameCube versions, with added motion controls.

Both of the survival horror ports are slated to arrive later this year, at $29.99 a piece.

If they're going to remake RE games can't they at least improve the controls, graphics, sound, etc. and add some new content? Granted the Wii is not the most powerful console but all they keep giving us is remakes and ports or older games :-(

Wasn't Umbrella Chronicles basically RE0? I even have Umbrella Chronicles but didn't make it far because it was so much like RE0 but I don't like on-rails shooters.
