Anyone played the Fallout DLC yet? How is it compared to the rest of the game? Is it the kind of thing you only want to buy if you've exhausted the base game's content or does it go above and beyond?

I'm having the worst time trying to get this DLC to work.
First, I have to login and buy it through Games for Windows Live. Fine. That wasn't too hard.
Then, I start the game when logged into GFWL and my savegame is gone. Wonderful.
So I do some searching and find out that the only way I can play the DLC with my current savegame is to follow the directions in this thread: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=947696&st=0
I do that, and no DLC. Finally, I realize that when launching the game after copying those files, I need to click Data Files and enable Anchorage.esm. Great. I do that, and finally the DLC appears to be working.
Oh, except for the crash to desktop as soon as I get the new radio beacon. And this is after never having any crashing problems with Fallout 3 ever. Fuck it, I give up for tonight. -
