Morning Discussion
by Chris Faylor, Jan 27, 2009 1:45am PSTThe dawn of a new day brings with it the birth of a new chatty, a shining bastion of hope and opportunity. Oh, and since it's Tuesday, we also get some Fallout 3 DLC. Yay.
I had considered staying up late to play through that new Fallout 3 quest, but my plans were dashed as I (accidentally) fell asleep on the couch around 10:30 PM. I feel old :(
Splinter Cell Blacklist co-op modes partially detailed
FIFA 14 on PC won't use Ignite engine
Ace Attorney Trilogy coming to iOS next week
Far Cry 3 editor jazzed up with Blood Dragon shinies
Epic Mickey 2 for Vita coming June 18

On the upside, Gears of War 2 received from mattfl. He even removed the jizz stains like I requested! A++++ would buy from again.

Let's also say that I didn't want them to be cheap stock or poorly printer. Anyone got a good resource?
Also they have to be better than the ones in American Psycho. Not too tall an order I hope?

What sort of wattage should I look for? I'm not building anything insanely fancy, just a standard decent computer that will run most games. I want to be able to plug my external hard drive and ipod into the thing without it frying, and other typical USB usage stuff.
Recommendations plz?

I know this is a long shot, but if any people have a bunch of MFC/C# UI experience and are looking for work, let me know. We're looking for a senior tools programmer and have a heck of a time finding someone.

Some of you might remember this :D
I'm going to attempt a re-design of our department intranet page and I'm unsure where to start and a good design/layout to go with.
I have some web design experience but nothing on this scale, the page we currently have is just one long page, literally covered in hundreds of links and its so unorganised that unless you know where something is, or exactly what you are looking for, you need to ask someone else.
What's the best way to start this? I don't have any detailed usage statistics (its on Twiki and I can't get any per page stats). Any layout templates or suggestions are very much welcomed.

Question:
Western Digital makes a 500GB SATA2 drive - here's the 500GB model
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136040
And here's the same drive only it's one of their "green" models
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136334
Months back when I went to Fry's to get a hard drive these two drives were identically priced. As of this moment, the green drive is $20 cheaper but that's not my question
Instinctively, I figure if there wasn't some sort of disadvantage to the "green" hard drive then they wouldn't even make a "non-green" one. Kinda like how if there wasn't any actual taste difference between Cola and Diet Cola then they would just make Diet Cola and call it Cola.
So I bought the "non-green" drive because fuck the planet, I want performance.
So my question is - what's the difference between the "green" and "non-green" hard drives? Is there a performance hit? And if there's no difference then why do they make the "non-green" drives at all?
