Spore Creations Go 8-Bit

6
We always knew the best part of Spore would be the bizarre creatures and objects, but I'm not sure even Maxis expected the kind of stuff that's being added to the Sporepedia lately--least of all the EA protest creatures.

Case in point, several Spore users have managed to craft objects that resemble 8-bit art (seen below), and have amassed considerable galleries of work that ranges from Mario to McDonalds over the past few months.

Unfortunately, the Spore Sculpture service prefers your creature to possess typical creature features--like, you know, legs. Otherwise, these would be great templates for useless paperweights.

Yeah, from my time with the Creature Creator I have no earthly idea how these things could be possible. Anyone have a CliffsNotes version of the procedure?

I think these are actually buildings.

I think spaceships are a superset of all the building and vehicle blocks. So they could have been buildings :)

I find lots of the things made in Spore and LBP to be absolutely astounding.

I'm not sure what impresses me more -- what they create, or the fact that the tools allow it to be done.

I was thinking the same thing, especially regarding Little Big Planet. I desperately want to make something equally amazing, yet lack the talent and the time.
