Phantom Floats Digital Distribution Site

Phantom Entertainment--formerly known as Infinium Labs, the infamous company responsible for the vaporous Phantom console--has announced the launch of Phantom Games, an online digital distribution hub.

The new service will allow consumers to purchase from a catalog that spans "over 2,600 PC games," including new releases such as "Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2," according to the company. The site is currently down for maintenance.

Phantom first announced the service in 2006, following several years of derision over the oft-hyped, but never produced Phantom game console.

In the interim, Phantom stayed busy by producing the Phantom Lapboard, a combination mouse/keyboard/tray that allows users to "work or play games from your couch, easy chair or any comfortable setting in your home or workplace."

Along with the launch of Phantom Games, the company also noted that it has secured enough cash to begin mass-producing the Lapboard.

We were just talking about the Lapboard earlier today.

I wish this company would just sell off the design to a reliable company and then fold it's doors.

Why isn't it reliable? They are selling it, aren't they?

The company has a very suspect history. And the have not produced one item yet.

Timothy Roberts is the one who singed the contract with Phantom Entertainment on behalf of a separate company, Phantom Game Systems inc.

If you google for Timothy Roberts, you will find that he's the precious CEO and founder of Infinium Labs, who had to resign under a cloud because of a SEC indictment for stock manipulation (bogus faxes just before Christmas). Roberts copped a plea agreement where he agreed to be banned of being an officer of any public company, and to stay away from penny stock offerings, for 5 years.

That's what P-theft meant by "suspect history". That and a long unbroken string of missed launch dates for every and any of their products.
