Lastly, it has been a really long time since I had a hard drive failure here at home. I
run nightly backups and all but I have been getting this overwhelming feeling that I am
"due" for a failure and have so much stuff going on right now that I really cant
afford missing half a weekday getting a backup restored. Long story short, I spent my
Christmas money early and got a Intel
X25-M for my OS drive. I'm replacing a raptor so I'll let you guys know next week how
it goes!

Alan Wake 2 would be 'much quicker' than first game, says Remedy
Games like say - Bad Mojo. You play a guy turned into a roach who has to explore a motel. You end up learning alot about your past and the landlord while you crawl over dead fish and up table legs. It's probably THE weirdest game I've ever played.
Next up is Saniarium. This game is beyond bizarre. I mean it starts off fine, then all the sudden you are in a town filled with mutant children and a pumpkin monster. In the end it all comes together, but it makes for one wacky adventure game.
Planescape Torment also applies. I mean you play a dude who can't die and can literally solve 'puzzles' by snapping your neck or biting off your own fingers. How many RPGs can you say that about? You can even use severed limbs as weapons. The entire game is so anti-cliche in terms of setting and style (well save for the amnesia thing, but it works very well)
Any others? Just amazing top tier games that stand out due to how very strange they are.

So I decide to play WotLK. I find my guild, I force myself to play, I start to like it. Enough that I can at least grind to 80 and fuck around on a couple guild raids. Last night, though, I finally remembered that Blizzard really is awesome. I finished up the big Dragonblight quest line (Started in Borean Tundra, at least for horde). The cutscene was fucking epic (although I wish it wasn't an in-engine cutscene and more of a rendered cutscene like the intro video. And then the phased zones.. Raiding Undercity with Thrall and Sylvanas? That was fucking epic too. I still think the game has its faults and I still occasionally miss Warhammer and EQ2, but certain things about this game just make me wonder how any MMO will top it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Passchendaele
A push of five miles. 560 000 dead.
The horror of the shell-hole area of Verdun was surpassed. It was no longer life at all. It was mere unspeakable suffering. And through this world of mud the attackers dragged themselves, slowly, but steadily, and in dense masses. Caught in the advanced zone by our hail of fire they often collapsed, and the lonely man in the shell-hole breathed again. Then the mass came on again.
-Ludendorff
They decided to abandon those five miles a few months after.
The village before and after the battle:

"I died in Hell
(they called it Passchendaele); my wound was slight
and I was hobbling back; and then a shell
burst slick upon the duckboards; so I fell
into the bottomless mud, and lost the light"
-Siegfried Sassoon
God damn, the European leaders of the time were stupid gits.
Of course, I would like to repeat that Blackadder goes forth is one of the best comedy shows ever, as it does the only rational thing when faced with head-pounding stupidity: makes fun of it.
...actually, all the lead up to the first world war was very funny, all the people coming from communities where they'd never bumped into posh people...and all being so gung ho and optimistic...the first hundred pages of any book about the world war are hilarious, then of course everybody dies.

I bought tony's creole butter to inject it with. Now my wife is bitching about it...so I told her I won't use the creole butter. Then she asked me what I was going to season the turkey with, and I told her Tony's seasoning. Now she's bitching about that.
So she now wants to know what I'm going to season it with and says I have to use something. So...any suggestions on what I should season the turkey with?

They gave it a 9.3. I am pretty excited for this game as the art style is magnificent and its been awhile since I played a good platforming game, probably Super Mario Galaxy last year.

Fact: The government is not able to govern.
Fact: Even with recent ties, Pakistan and India have always been mortal enemies.
Fact: Pakistan is very Vulnerable.
This shows that if India needs a reason to attack and take over Pakistan, the time is now otherwise they may not get such easy chance. Thus they need a reason and either this is truly a terrorist attack or could be a false flag operation to move toward such actions.

For those of you unfamiliar with this, the Xbox360 has undergone several hardware revisions over the years. The current model, Falcon, has a smaller/cooler CPU than the previous versions, but the biggest heat source was still the 90nm GPU. Since heat is part of the cause of the dreaded RROD, a die-shrunk GPU revision in the new Jasper models has been greatly anticipated since it will keep the console cooler, and hopefully less prone to RROD. A year ago, Jasper was scheduled to be launched in August 2008. But NO ONE had seen one in the wild (although there were a lot of cases of "mistaken identity", particularly from self-reporting users who wrongly assumed that any unit built after August 2008 was a Jasper).
But last night there were some posts on various forums that the newest units seen in stores may (repeat: MAY) have be Jaspers. The clue is in the amperage: Falcons are labelled as drawing 14.2A, whereas the lower-power Jaspers were suspected t0 draw only 12.1A (this was calculated from published specs of MS's new power brick). Xbox360 units built beginning around lot 843 supposedly have labels that list the power draw as 12.1A. w00t! In addition, they may also have a different power plug; each revision of the console and power brick has a slightly different connector, allowing newer models to use the more-powerful old power bricks, but preventing older consoles from using the new power bricks.
This is all still very tentative, and could turn out to be photoshop fraud. Or mistaken assumptions about what is and isn't Jasper. But it's very encouraging for those of us interested in more reliable Xbox360s. The next step is for one ore more purchasers of Lot 843 consoles to test them with a Kill-A-Watt meter to determine the actual power consumption, and post clearer pictures of the power plug.

The lag is negligible, they did a really good job.
The new art is overall a B+, but much of the work is truly A+. The backgrounds are faithfully redone, although some aren't as lavish as others, and some of the characters are just impeccable, like Sagat and Dhalsim's art direction.
I know some of you out there are screaming OMG don't buy that crap again! but it's well worth it for a fighter, sometimes Soul Calibur just doesn't deliver the same adversarial ribbing as a good late round dragon punch out of nowhere.
If you really enjoyed SF2, it feels just right and most fights just look spectacular.
