Good Old Games Opens to the Public, Offers DRM-less PC Classics for Cheap
by Chris Faylor, Oct 23, 2008 8:25am PDTCD Projekt has announced that its digital distribution platform Good Old Games officially opens to the public today, bringing cheap DRM-free downloads of classic PC games, such as Fallout and Fallout 2, to the masses that didn't get early access.
At present, GOG.com offers over 40 PC titles, priced at either $5.99 or $9.99. Each game has been reworked to be compatible with XP and Vista, and can be downloaded an unlimited amount of times once purchased.
Piranha Bytes' Gothic and Strategy First's Disciples: Sacred Lands Gold Edition will hit the service on October 28, with Sacred Gold, Jagged Alliance, and more slated to arrive in the coming weeks.

Addendum: Trying to heal an injured comrade my stuffing him *inside* the body of a dead animal (a la Empire Strikes Back, Planet Hoth, etc.) is a classic case of "You're Doing It Wrong", most notably when the damn thing GETS UP AND RUNS AWAY, taking your buddy with it...
I hadn't laughed so hard in aeons!

1. Updated the games to work on XP/Vista including 64-bit.
2. NO DRM OF ANY KIND!!
3. Easy downloads, one simple install file for each game.
4. Good community and lots of links to mods, etc.
5. Extra goodies like manuals, posters, etc included with every game.
Everyone needs to go sign up for this right now. This is a concept that needs to succeed. It MUST succeed. Vote with your wallets and show the idiot publishers that gameplay rules over crap games with flashy graphics, and that DRM must die NOW.
