Resistance 2 Gone Gold, Multiplayer Beta Kicks Off
by Chris Faylor, Oct 17, 2008 7:33am PDTInsomniac's PlayStation 3 shooter sequel Resistance 2 has gone gold and entered the manufacturing process, publisher Sony has announced, along with word that the promised multiplayer beta is now officially underway.
Available now to those that purchased Qore Episode 3 or pre-ordered Resistance 2 from GameStop, the beta packs three locations, according to the PlayStation.Blog. A second wave of beta participants will gain access next week, with registration soon available via the soon-to-be-relaunched community site MyResistance.net.
- Competitive Multiplayer Skirmish, Core Control, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch Modes
- Orick Map (60-, 40- and 20-player configurations)
- Chicago Map (40- and 20-player configurations)
- Sub Docks Map (Bay Area) (10-player configuration)

Players will be able to gain experience up to level 10, allowing them to test out the game's unlockable items and character customization elements.
