Remedy CFO: Still Working on Alan Wake, Admits Struggles
by Maarten Goldstein, Aug 18, 2008 4:21am PDTIt's been a good long while since Remedy Entertainment has said anything about Alan Wake, the psychological thriller the company announced in 2005.
Up until the first half of last year there were sporadic screenshot releases and tidbits of new information released through previews. Since then, the Max Payne developer has kept very quiet.
Remedy CFO Mika Reini took the time today to reassure fans that the game is still in development. On the game's official forums he notes "yes, we're still here and working hard on getting Alan Wake for you to enjoy."Reini also admitted that there have been some development struggles, saying "if everything had gone perfectly smoothly there probably would be a game out for you guys to play already. But designing a completely new game can be hard, and sometimes you need to take a detour to find the best route forward."
Alan Wake is in development for PC and Xbox 360, with Microsoft publishing.
