12
Square Enix has announced that its new RPG franchise The Last Remnant will arrive on Xbox 360 worldwide this winter, with a PlayStation 3 release to follow later on.

Announced over a year ago, the Unreal Engine 3-powered title was previously believed to hit both platforms simultaneously. The Bouncer (PS2) and Unlimited SaGa (PS2) production manager Nobuyuki Ueda is serving as the game's producer.

Along with word of the release plans, Square Enix sent along a few new screenshots.

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

all i want is a good solid rpg story with japanese language and english subtitles. Please don't have american voice talent do this unless you are paying for GTA or Mass Effect caliber voice overs.

What's wrong with english dubs. Maybe I'm not a "hardcore otaku", but while you do get the occasional bad dubs, most dubs are actually good. I'd say that I like both so either way, it's good to have options.

Because it's cool to say otherwise. Most people really don't care and prefer English dubs.

untrue. the voice over acting is atrocious and it destroys the story.

I hearken back to mass effect and bioware which do EXCELLENT voice over for their respective language. If the company were to port over the game and throw money and buy some better actors it may alleviate the problem. I just look at crappy games that come over, have atrocious english actors (99 nights, anything with Dynasty warriors, etc) it just kills the mood and it becomes just a chore to move the story along.

It wasn't that great. Certainly not as good as say, FFXII.

I preferred the Japanese voices, personally.
