S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky Publisher Revealed
by Chris Faylor, May 06, 2008 10:39am PDTFormer European-only publisher Deep Silver has announced that it will be publishing the North American edition of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky (PC).
Though developer GSC Game World revealed long ago that its survival FPS prequel would hit retailers and Steam on August 29, no North American publisher was listed at the time.
Owned by larger publisher Koch Media, Deep Silver expanded its operations to include North American publishing less than a week ago.

While the vanilla experience of the original game was less realistic than the community hoped for, even there a few shots could kill you. Incomparable more challenging, tactically and in terms of reactions, than a game like Halo, which thrives on consoles.
STALKER with the 'recharging health' gimmick would make baby jesus make -you- cry.

I had so much fun with the first game. Really threw myself into it despite the bugs and the sporadic death of framerate. But with the patch breaking savegames and yet fixing up so much I kinda lost the will to play it and uninstalled before I'd finished it. I still have backups of my saves if I ever wanted to pick up where I left off, but think I'd rather start from the beginning with it all nicely patched up.
Dumb fuckin' saves breakage. Why'd they have to do it.
