Mass Effect 2 Will Hit Xbox 360 First, PC Soon After

The upcoming sequel to BioWare's sci-fi RPG Mass Effect will arrive on Xbox 360 first with a PC version hitting soon after, according to senior manager Matt Atwood.

"I believe we'll be Xbox 360 exclusive for at least a short period of time," Atwood told CVG. "We've got a really great PC fan base, we think it's really important to deliver the PC experience as quickly as possible," he continued in a VideoGamer interview.

The first entry in BioWare's planned Mass Effect trilogy arrived on Xbox 360 last fall, with a PC version, co-developed by Demiurge, due out May 6. Many had speculated that, following EA's acquisition of BioWare and the publishing rights for Mass Effect, the sequel would release simultaneously on multiple platforms.

BioWare has yet to specify a release window for Mass Effect 2.

Consoles first is good even though I prefer PC just so the companies can't complain as much about losing so much money because of illegal downloaders.
Now they get the sure fire cash of consoles, then the people who actually pay for a game on the PC.

I hope they learned a lesson and make a more focused game with more variety instead of always trying to stretch content out with cut and paste missions. Then again this is BioWare and they are slow at learning and tend to photocopy their games. Don't get me wrong, overall I like their games, but even their biggest fans have to acknowledge they tend to copy from game to game. The only games they made that haven't fit the mold are Shattered Steel and MDK2. Mass Effect could have easily been KotOR 3 if you changed a few things.

It's obviously not that great and neither important if it can't be pareallel release. No need to sugar coat it. Never the less I love those guys and I hope they bring us Dragon Age soon.
