Monster PlayStation Store Update Adds Demos, Downloadable Games and In-game Content

This week's additions to the PlayStation 3's online PlayStation Store bring so much new content to the marketplace that they are said to constitute its biggest update ever.

Included in the avalanche are four original games, nine pieces of downloadable content, two demos, and one old PlayStation classic.

Game Republic's miniature car racer Toy Home sells for $9.99, as do the dot-collecting tail-growing antics of SCE's Snakeball, which also has a free demo available. PlayStation Eye-requiring titles Trials of Topoq and Mesmerize: Distort, meanwhile, respectively go for $5.99 and $1.99. All are PlayStation 3 exclusives.

Along with the expected $7.99 Omega: Operation Dawn expansion for Incognito's Warhawk, this week's three Rock Band tracks, which sell for $1.99, and two free add-on packs for SOE's High Stakes: Poker Edition were made available.

In celebration of the season, free Christmas-themed add-ons are provided for Game Republic's Folklore, Neversoft's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, and Evolution Studios' MotorStorm.

Also new to the online store are SingleTrac's Warhawk for the original PlayStation, which sells for $5.99, and a free demo of Midway Austin's BlackSite: Area 51. Warhawk is playable on both the PS3 and PSP, and is available from the PC-requiring PSP PlayStation Store as well.

The above additions represent the final PlayStation Store update of the year, as the team at SCEA will be taking the next week off in celebration of the holiday season.

And still no Home. What a joke. October release.. missed. Beta by the end of the year.. missed. Now supposedly sometime in Q1 '08. Oh well I guess.

I am so not interested in Facebook'ing my PS3 that I couldn't care less. I'd take some FF13 videos or something over a Home beta any day.

How do you sign up for the beta?

Yea. An open beta was what I was referring to.
