A 582MB demo for Saber Interative's overhauled time-tweaking shooter TimeShift hit Xbox Live today. The game will arrive on Xbox 360 and PCs October 30, with the PlayStation 3 version bringing up the rear at an unannounced date. Shacknews' Team Chris power duo tag-teamed coverage of the title, with Chris Faylor exploring the multiplayer and Chris Remo getting the details on the game's drastic reinvention.

I never played the first demo but this really makes me wonder what they spent all that extra development time doing, everything about this is about as mediocre as you can get. There's a part in the demo where you drop down on to a soldier executing a civilian, and I used the time powers to reverse time and tried to stop him, except the soldier is invulnerable until he finishes the execution. What's the point of allowing the player to reverse time if you can't actually change something?

i feel sorry for these developers because ive been following the development for this and i remember all the hassle theyve gone to think out how u can do timestopping in MP but the core of it is still a bog standard orwellian (or city 17 if u will) fight against the machine using slow mo effects.
