New Painkiller Game, Film Underway
by Chris Faylor, Aug 01, 2007 4:03pm PDTThe People Can Fly-developed, DreamCatcher-published Painkiller series is now headed to both theaters and living rooms. Variety reports that a new entry in the game series, which has graced both PC and Xbox, is in development. Property owner JoWood Productions--which acquired DreamCatcher in 2006--previously cited Painkiller as one of its major brands when it began pursuing PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii development. The feature film, meanwhile, is being handled by Guy Walks Into A Bar Productions (Elf). The script, which details the perils of a man caught in the middle of a war between heaven and hell, will be written by Ben McCaw. Jon Berg, Todd Komarnicki, and Matthew Winberg are slated to produce. The game apparently caught Berg's eye after it was shown in a 60 Minutes segment.

Hooray for a sequel though. Hopefully there's less 'evil bikers' and more demons/zombies. The zombie city in the expansion was so great.
i though that nobody played painkiller (which is a shame) and a sequel would be out of the question.
but a film? as long it doesn't get uwe bowl'D (sp?) it cannot suck....that much
But I loved the game. Glad to hear that.
