after trying it briefly i've noticed some things:

good:

- the game feels way more solid and precise with the previous 60fps cap lifted

- the audio system is a lot better

- the netcode feels better

- the hitbox change combined with the rail changes are great, thank you

bad:

- the lg is still too powerful imo, but i can live with it

- you still see spawning players "ghost" across the map to their spawn position

"refined hitboxes" and "weapon balancing"? wow.
I don't play Q4, but the game's been out for a while now, what justify such a 'late' update on such important points? Was there really issues with hitboxes and weapons balance?

Thanks for the update, I bought quake 4 like 2 yrs ago or whenever it came out and then i gave it away 2 months ago since it was just sitting there all lonely with nobody to play, ahhhhh yes so this is how they update their game, releasing a patch yrs later when games who bought it lost intrest in the thing.

IMO, people who aren't playing Quake 4 are simply missing out. Sure, it doesn't 100% feel like Quake 3 with just beefier graphics (though, maybe this patch will make that happen) but it's a damn solid game, SP and MP.

If you played it and didn't like it then that's one thing but I think if you didn't give it a shot you're missing out (and now that it's cheap, its worth it, IMO)
