Counter-Strike: Source Pistol Changes Coming
by Maarten Goldstein, Dec 09, 2006 7:56am PSTAccording to the latest Valve news update, available through Steam, Valve will be changing the pistols in Counter-Strike: Source. Right now pretty much everyone uses the Desert Eagle causing a dramatic increase in price since the introduction of dynamic weapon pricing. Valve will attempt to rectify the situation by making the other pistols more effective. All pistol prices have been reset while Valve prepares the update.

Then again, I liked doing the headshot with a pump-action shotgun too.
oh, the olden days.

The Dynamic Weapon Pricing thread is at over 10,000 posts, 90% of them people bitching and screaming about it.
Any posts bitching about it that aren't made in that thread are deleted so they don't count.
You'd think they would just turn it off. I mean people have been playing cs for what? Nearly a decade? I can see it having a small fanbase as a mod, but jesus why force that shit on everyone?
The idea's supposed to be the great players won't be able to get the best guns in the first few rounds, so they have to play with uzi's and shotguns and crap.
That works, but the best players are still the first ones to get the m4, ak etc and when they do get them and start annihilating everyone, the average and n00b players don't have a hope in hell of getting the kills to buy them.
It's madness.

"Hot Bargain: Deal of the Week:(pic of nightvision goggles)
Now Just $406
A run on Assault Suit buying has caused a significant price drop on the Nightvision Goggles. Outfit your militia force today and save big!"
I think they forgot that the nightvision goggles DON'T WORK.
Projected price next week is $56. Still $56 wasted.

I always hated the way that a winning team would get tons of nice guns and hardly have to spend any money for ages whilst they were on top whilst the losing team would really have to coordinate and pull their shit together to even stand a slight chance of winning a round and getting some money. Even then, it would likely mean just having pistols and basic stuff for a few rounds.
The only thing that should affect cash is team kills, hostage kills and general antisocial behaviour.

i'm having trouble connecting steam to the internet. haven't played cs:s in a long time...before i got my new wifi router. so i'm thinking the linksys wrt54g is to blame. i've configured the firewall (sygate) to let steam through...and it's still not going through...any ideas?
steam seems to be the only program having issues connecting to the internet right now.

It clearly shows that the DE was overpowered... they are now fixing it, and its about freakin time.
All the people crying about the Dynamic Pricing, I dont understand what your whinning about... (unless your mad skillz stop short at just a short selection of weapons... aka DE/Colt/AK/AWP)

I mean, shit, if this were real life, I'd take the goddamn DE every time.

I'm not saying we aim to take over CSS, wont happen by any mod as far as I'm concerned, but we can ed least try a new gameplay and hope people will be attracted to it and hope it will find it's own audience. The more CSS players the better of course :p

Hell on some wierd level I'd also like to see them add the silenced Ruger MkII that the SEALs use, but I don't think it'd fit very well in CS (its only a .22...but still...its a cool gun in an odd sorta way (basically a silenced version of a target pistol thats used in combat)...but it wouldn't work in CS as it'd be underpowered).

The $25K price tag for the deagle was a bit much! A stronger glock would be quite nice though.
