The Witcher Gets European Publishing
by Maarten Goldstein, Aug 31, 2006 6:50am PDTAccording to this press release, Atari has signed a deal that will have the publisher distributing CD Projekt's fantasy RPG The Witcher in Europe and Asia. The game will be released Spring 2007. No US distributor has been announced as of yet.

You would not believe it uses the Aurora Engine, because the game looks state-of-the-art and shows dense vegetation, detailed normal maps for the surfaces and very convincing character animation. Some landscape elements could use a few more polygons, but that's just a small issue, because the textures look so good and really compensate this minor flaw.
And wait until you see the intro FMV ;)
The only thing I don't like at the moment: The game contains several situations where the character has to make choices (usually in dialogue sequences), and the consequences of these choices can be severe. However, there are no hints or indications that let you predict the potential outcome of a choice, so you never know if a small decision will later result in the death of your best friend or you love interest.
