Great read, this whole AI ecology thing sounds really interesting and sorta similar to the radiant AI of oblivion. Also, it's got that atmospheric feel of an adventure game for some reason. Kudos to Irrational for bringing us something original once again.

If you're talking about the screenshots when you mention the "atmospheric feel of an adventure game", I would agree. If you're not, I'm going to talk about the screenshots anyway. :)

I think until recently 3D technology has not completely allowed for the great, inspired art direction and execution of the best 2D adventure or RPG games (and top-shelf art direction isn't easy to come by in any case). The BioShock screenshots have a truly distinctive look. They don't look like they're slaves to the latest pixel shader.

I think the AI ecology will be more useful than Oblivion's AI. Oblivion's is basically just a scheduling AI, but Bioshock's should be exploitable and have gameplay implications.

God this shit makes me hard. Why can't all dev teams be like this?

I wish we had more teams like this, and all the Halo's and Maddens would die a painful death

Nothing wrong with Halo 2 multiplayer. Speak for yourself.
