There is also related news, as ATI has released a beta Catalyst driver for Radeon videocard owners that allows you to use HDR and AA concurrently. Being beta, it is unsupported. Meanwhile the official Oblivion forums have word of a patch that is in the works for the game (thanks Voodoo Extreme). The patch will fix bugs encountered by players and Bethesda employees, and European patches will also take care of some localization errors. The same post also mentions that the next DLC release for the game will be 150 points, instead of the 200 the horse armor plugin cost on the Xbox Live marketplace. For the PC, the price will drop from $1.99 to $1.89.

Does one exist, and if so, are there any purchasable or steal-able, preferably without doing a quest? I've got black robes, and I need a matching hood. I know it's silly, but I'm obsessed with role playing and clothing in this game.

I've tried autotravelling around hoping he'll show up but I never get a message that he's waiting outside the gate. I tried going back to Fort Farragut but he's not there either :(

I FINALLY got all of my Mage Guild recommendations, at about 24hrs in, and level 8. The Arcane University dude sends me out to get myself a staff. So I head over, go through a dungeon, and I come out on the other side on an island. There are enemies to kill but I get a bit overwhelmed and end up jumping off the island, leaving one or two of them. I heal up and try to make it back on to the island but it seems like the only way in is via the dungeon - so I hit it again, show up on top of the island - but no-one is here. There's an unfinished staff but when I take it back to the Arcane University dude he just says "go get yourself a staff!"
I really really hope I havn't screwed this quest.

Since the item dupe bug in this game is such that you can create hundreds of items in front of you instantly, I was playing around with it last night to amuse some friends. First I got up on a wall and was raining books upon the town. Certain items (like books) behave in very interesting ways when you duplicate them, since they appear on top of each other and then try to push apart so they aren't clipping together. Books, for example, spread vertically into a huge tower, sometimes just falling over, and sometimes spraying around like a big snake.
Well I eventually filled the river with books and other crap. the floating things, like books and scrolls, actually let me walk over them. If you stand still on them, you'll slowly sink through. The physics are quite impressive. I did some Varla stones shortly after this screenshot:

Then after no-clipping to an open area, I did some staff duping. They fanned out into a cool Bahamut-wing looking thing:

And in the imperial city I created a ton of sigil stones. This was a BAD idea. they have sounds and special effects associated with them. Once a bunch of them rolled over towards me the game pertty much stopped working, though it still let me alt-tab out and close it.

Normally it would be cheating, but it's a lot of fun for screwing around like this. =)

Let's give it a whirl! If it doesn't stack to be 300 damage instantly, oh well, fuck it I'll make something else!! Love the custom spell and enchanting features. So nice. :D

First Question : When I add items to the game world (ex Dwarven short sword) and then I go into the game world, it always shows up red as stolen, so every time I get caught by guards items are confinscated.
Second Question: How do I add large sums of money? the only gold I can find in the items is the individual gold coins, and it would take me a long time to add 10,000 of them to the opening jail cell.

While I dearly love Oblivion, I must admit that there are a couple of things that worry me about converting Fallout to this format.
1) Fallout's branching dialogue. Let's face it, for the most part, Oblivion's quest conversations are entirely on rails. There is very, very little in the way of altering or shaping the outcome of conversations. The persuasion mini-game only REALLY determines whether people will enlist your aid, and, by and large, the only "real" option you have with regard to quests is to decline them. I desperately hope that this is changed for Fallout 3, as the freeform amoral nature of Fallout demands that the player set the tone by both their words and deeds.
2) S.P.E.C.I.A.L. It's not just a gimmic, folks, the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system is very much a pillar of the Fallout experience. Most especially, this can, once again, be seen in how character interaction and dialogue play out. At any given time, a conversation or character interaction may have more, or less, content based on a player's strength, perception, endurance, charisma, intelligence, agility, luck, or any combination of the above. Having a large Oblivion-sized world for Fallout 3 will be wonderful, but if the system which governs your character's interaction with the world and people around them isn't true to the spirit of Fallout, then it won't really be Fallout.
3) Content. Fallout cannot walk the line, it is an adult game through and through. From hideously mutated freaks, to violently gory deaths, to rampant drug use, to unabashedly foul language, to the commoditization of sexuality, the world of Fallout is dark, gritty, and unapologetic. People have nothing left to lose and no inhibitions keeping them from doing whatever they need to survive, or even momentarily escape from, the reality of life in the wastes.
4) Turn-based combat and isometric perspective. They are Fallout, and I love them. That being said, I know they're gone and there is nothing to be done about it. So this isn't something that needs to be argued--it just needs to be remembered.
I believe that Bethesda has what it takes to make amazing things happen with the Fallout license, I just dearly hope they keep the previous items in mind as they craft the next chapter in the saga that is Fallout.

I went into a gate south of Chorrol and there's a total of seven towers. I've made it into the central tower, but I can only go so high. I can see two levels above me there's a walkway leading up, but I see no way to get up there? How do I get up there?

With the first black soul gem I captured a soul of some death mage. It has also 1600 pt. Is that it ? Or does it get better? If so where do I get some realy great stuff for uber enchanting?

How does it end? I was just now doing it, and halfway through the vampire cave you find out he is hiding out in, all of a sudden my journal updates with "I have slain Seridur, I should go tell Roland." :| After I got the rest of the way through the cave I found his dead body, I guess he and another vamp got in a fight. :) Anyway, does he say anything or do anything interesting in the cave? I know it's just a single side quest, but it drives me a little crazy that it happened that way.

Since updating to the newly posted version of Directx, I no longer get crashes after exiting the game.
I got them consistantly before and no longer do. Only change was this.

I just started the Mages and DB quest line after finishing the thieves.
This game has about a main questline, mages, dark brotherhood, thieves, fighters, and a bonus arena on the side. Not to mention the quests from town to town, and the dungeons which serve no quest at all. Its hard to find a game with this much content.

Does casting a minor (10 damage) spell give you the same skill advancement as casting a major (50 damage) spell?
I would think it would, except I cannot generate proof. Both cause skill increases, but they are so small that I cannot discern if there is a difference.
