Christmas Party: looking for some ideas other than the usual sit around + drink + eat + karaoke + gift swap stuff.

I was trying to think of simple games that use stuff like Christmas ribbon or lightbulbs or wrapping paper or any of that sort of stuff that people have around the house this time of year. For example after watching 'Survivor' last night, one of the challenges they have every year is where 1 person or a group of people are tied up in rope (christmas ribbon?) and have to unwrap themselves.

So, the warranty on my 12" Powerbook is almost out, Applecare is Ã‚Â£279 for a PB.. and a 5200Go is so pitiful for Aperture you need h4x to even get it running... do I...

a) get Applecare for Ã‚Â£279 and sell the Powerbook for an x86 one down the line

OR

b) spend Ã‚Â£1400 (and sell the Powerbook for ~Ã‚Â£750 or so) on a 15" Powerbook with

Has anyone else noticed a decline in customer service from newegg in the last 6mo or so? From my records, I've had to only contact them twice out of 50 orders in the last 6 months. Thats not so bad really. Its much higher then my contact rate for Dell (closer to 50%, I shit you not).

However, when I try to contact them, its always like pulling teeth. For example, I sent out 3 different e-mails this morning. One to newegg trying to figure out why an order was stuck on step 1, one to Dell trying to figure out why they like to rape me w/o lube, and another to another vendor wondering where my shit was.

The other vendor e-mailed me back within 30 minutes. Dell had me back in 3 hours. Newegg? Still waiting. I gave them a ring and I got a guy that was about as helpfull as a kick to the nads. The last time I had to talk to Newegg I got about the same deal. Has the sucsess gone to their heads? Are they high off of their fancy catalogs they send out now? Or am I a perfectionist that wants my every whim looked to lest I become a whiny bitch?

Saw Chronicles of Narnia last night at the midnight showing. Never was into the books as a kid, I was more into Tolkien and other stuff.

The movie was pretty good. It was quite slow at times and definately "disney'd up". The acting by the kids just made me cringe at times. Otherwise it was pretty well done.

Something that is silly and not really explained Ok these are jsut some pussy little kids, all of a sudden you had them a sword and they are fighting huge monsters with ease. What? It would be fine if there was a reason WHY.

I'd say 8/10 overall.

Sparing everyone all the details no one cares about, I find myself stuck for hours on end every day with nothing but a decent laptop that lacks much 3D power.. I'm looking for games to kill the time with. So I need something that's:
- fun
- small install footprint (it's not my computer)
- either turn-based or doesn't use mouse much (this touchpad thing blows)
- either 2D or early 3D

Suggestions? Maybe an SNES or Genesis RPG I might not have played before? Looking for something different.

Cheap Wise way to get Mac os X Server?
Mac Mini + Mac OS X Server v10.4 = $1,198.00
Power Mac G5 Dual-core 2GHz + Mac OS X Server v10.4 = $2,598.00
Both have 1GB of memory and at least a 80GB HD

I plan to use it for VPN/FTP/iChat/Web hosting/Email but not heavily at most somewhere between 5-7 people connecting at one time.

Can the Mac mini function as a small server?
