EA Gets Nearly 60% Of DICE Shares

Electronic Arts has announced that it has completed its tender offer to the shareholders of Battlefield developer Digital Illusions (DICE), and now owns a controlling 59.8% interest in the company. EA also owns warrants, which if exercised, can bump their stake in the company's share sto 67.3%.

    Seriously, EA has done bad things with their titles, but they are easily going to be buying into the most "modern" engine for military games. Military games sell, they are basically buying the Battlefield franchise and I'm sure they will expand that make the MoH series use the new engine.

    Basically instead of EA licensing id's engine for the next 5 years, they own an engine and can license it out themselves.

    If EA treats the DICE people bad, they will leave to make another game company.
