I couldn't disagree more. If there's one thing I'm concerned about with Planetside, it's a reason to continue playing. Since nobody ever really "wins", THAT sounds like something that is "for naught"... I mean, you can take a base and man the turrets or whatever... but do you really win anything? Chances are it will just be taken back while you're sleeping.
With the traditional map time limit for FPS games (Tribes, Renegade, BF42), I DO feel a sense of accomplishment. Because at the end of the battle, a clear winner and loser are defined. Can the same be said for the persistant world of Planetside?
And once you've upgraded your character to max stats... what's the point of playing after that? I mean, yeah, you can play it just like another FPS game... but, where's the "persistant" part after your stats are maxed? I guess the game probably keeps track of your kills and so forth... but I don't really want to enlarge my epenis with silly game stats... I want abilities and more skills.

As for talking me into paying $10-15 a month for a game, i don't know about that...
I think a big part of it is just the exploration. My favourite part of the game was to start a new character, learn about their abilities, and then go wandering around the zones with no particular goal in mind.
I'm curious if something like this would be possible in Planetside, would be interesting if you could wander around as a mercenary of sorts.
