There seems to be all kinds of hubbub going on lately about tweaking Radeon9500 and Radeon9500pro cards into much higher performance cards. It started out with bios tweaking, but now it looks like the hackers have gotten it down to software packages. Check out this page as or the new RivaTuner. Anyone wanna post results?

after reading the HardOCP forums it seems the failure rate is a little too high at the moment for me to gamble on this. i had my credit card out on the table too and was the buy screen at an online retailer. oh well

One thing i like to share with my fellow shackers is that ATI really made an effort to fix their driversupport. ATI drivers are closing in on their nVidia counterparts (especially the 3.0 Catalysts) fast. Good stuff.

Well, that does it! I just ordered a hackable 9500 128mb card to replace my GF2pro. Sounds like Soft9700 is working very well for most people and it will be hard to beat the value ($160 delivered) if it can run like a 9700.

My card doesn't have any corruption at all with Wizzard's driver hack. Runs beautifully. I never fucked with any of the hardware on my board. And man, does it blow my GeForce 2 out of the water. I can turn on 4xAA and not even notice any slowdown.
