Condition Zero Interview
by Maarten Goldstein, Dec 28, 2001 5:57am PSTHalfLife.nu is the latest to quiz Randy Pitchford of Gearbox about the upcoming single/multiplayer Counter-Strike game. There are Q&As on the current state of the project, winter climate missions, multiplayer compatability with the current Counter-Strike mod/game, people from the Counter-Strike community who are contributing to CZ, the bot AI, and a few other things.
skalmanxl: To get to the core of the interview, how is CS:CZ's development coming along?CS: Condition Zero is due out early next year.
Randy Pitchford: Condition Zero is now feature complete. WeÂ’ve got some front end interface work to do and tons of polishing and play balancing. ThereÂ’s also a few maps that are in their final stages of development. As all of the content is complete, weÂ’ll be polishing a few things to internal quality standards before entering a more severe Beta phase with Valve and our publisher.

I'm totally turned off by Valve and their products. They have sit on their hands and let rampant and unmerciful cheating totally destroy the entire online Half-Life community. Some of the biggest names that used to play Counter-Strike no longer do.
I used to play a TON of Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat until I could no longer stomach the cheating. I got sick of it and totally uninstalled Half-Life and all the mods.
Valve is THE stupidest company on earth. Instead of doing something about this a longgggg time ago, they dissed Punkbuster instead and just *recently* commented about starting to issue anti-cheat patches (of which NONE are available as of this moment in time).
Valve hasn't done a damn thing since Half-Life and probably never will. They desperately need to go out of business as the one-hit-wonder they truly are.
Good job Valve,,, while you were counting your stacks of money,,, cheaters ruined your online community and you didn't even realize that your fans were slipping through your fingers.
Anyone thinking about buying Condition Zero desperately needs their head examined. Hope you have fun playing single-player; because that's all there will really be for this game unless you want to be headshotted through walls online. Fun stuff.
Suxor it down Valve!

Grammar error aside, does this include putting the front end interface into the main renderer so our computers don't have to change resolutions twice?
