Journey to Summerset in The Elder Scrolls Online's Latest Chapter

Explore the High Elves' gorgeous home in the newest expansion for the Elder Scrolls MMORPG.

The latest expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online is nearly upon us. This time around, players will explore the beautiful Isle of Summerset, home of the High Elves. It's been quite a while since we've had a chance to frolic throughout the Elves' homeland (since The Elder Scrolls: Arena back in 1994, to be exact), and now it's presented in its full glory with a new zone, storyline, and skill line based on the Psijic Order mages. There's also the addition of jewelry crafting, which sounds exactly like something that's up my alley.

The Psijic Order has its own special skill line with new active, passive, and ultimate abilities, such as Time Stop, which lets you freeze time in one specific location. Meditate lets you restore health, stamina, and magicka over time. Similarly, Undo lets you "reset" your health, magicka, and stamina to what you were at four seconds prior.

The expansion isn't out just yet, but it's targeting a release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 5, 2018. PC players will get a chance to try it out even earlier, with a release at the end of May. It looks like one of the most idyllic areas you could explore in the game thus far, which you can see in the new trailer below. Just try not to take in how serene everything looks. Go on, I dare you.

The Elder Scrolls Online is an expansive world that lets you customize your favorite character down to the weapons you use in combat, with several different abilities that change depending on what class you choose to play as. Aside from the realm of Summerset, you can explore Skyrim, Morrowind, and even Daggerfall if you so choose. If you haven't given it a try, it's certainly worth taking a look at, especially with the new expansion about to land this year.
