Splatoon 3's first post-release Splatfest begins next weekend

Tuesday's Nintendo Direct continued with the first major post-release Splatfest for Splatoon 3. It poses a crucial question to the game's fanbase: What would you bring to a deserted island? This question will lead to teams selecting between Gear, Grub, and Fun, where they'll then do battle in a couple of weeks.

The next Splatoon 3 Splatfest will run from Friday, September 23 through Sunday, September 25, starting and ending at 5PM PT. Remember that Splatfests work quite differently in Splatoon 3. This is not a mere case of selecting a color and jumping into Turf Wars. No, Splatfests are three-way dances, where representatives of all three teams will look to win giant Tricolor Turf Wars. Victories will be tallied and counted at the end, where one true winner will be declared. The first such three-way battle was held in August, where Rock, Paper, and Scissors engaged in glorious combat.

On top of the upcoming three-way Splatfest, Nintendo reaffirmed that more updates are planned for Splatoon 3 in the weeks ahead. The publisher previously noted that it had at least two years of new cosmetics and weapons planned out.

Splatoon 3's next Splatfest starts up on Friday, September 23 at 5PM PT. There's a good chance you'll have no trouble finding participants, given how well Splatoon 3 has been selling.
