Tuesday's Nintendo E3 Direct moved forward with a look at a high school student getting dragged into a different dimension, an otherworldly version of Tokyo. This is the latest in the Shin Megami Tensei series, as players journey into Shin Megami Tensei 5.
Last seen at E3 2020, Shin Megami Tensei 5 puts players in the role of a superpowered high school student, who finds herself in the middle of an alternate dimension Tokyo. This version of Tokyo is a demon-infested wasteland, so players will need to find enemy weak points and unleash massive multi-hit combos in intense turn-based JRPG battles. Of course, demon battles get much more difficult as time goes on, so players will need a little help. Fortunately, players have the option to negotiate with certain demons and persuade them to join your cause. While there isn't much more to say about the game's mechanics at the moment, the Atlus Twitter account is teasing more information in an upcoming Game Informer feature.
It's been several years since Shin Megami Tensei 5 was first unveiled, but the wait for it is almost over. The game is set to launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch on November 12. There's a lot to check out at E3 2021 this year, so keep it here on Shacknews for the latest news and announcements.
