The first episode of Night City Wire showcased a ton of new content for Cyberpunk 2077 fans to revel over, including our first look at the Braindance, a special device that players can use to see character's experiences. You'll even be able to edit and analyze the sequence. During Night City Wire, braindance was the subject of the gameplay shown.

CD Projekt RED promised that this inaugural episode of Night City Wire would feature an extended look at gameplay. The developers took this opportunity to show viewers how the braindance feature will work in the game. Braindance allows you to experience something that happened to another character, as if you were in their shoes. In the footage, we watch from the perspective of a character robbing a convenience store alongside an accomplice. Judy then takes the player out of the braindance, describing to him how the system works. The player then goes back in, but now in analysis mode.

Analysis mode allows the player to rewatch an event but with every security and technological resource you could need. You can scrub forward or backwards through footage, as well as move the camera around and scan details. This mechanic works for investigation and mystery solving. In the gameplay, the player uses braindance to discover that the robber was actually killed by his own partner upon exiting the store.

Braindance will be a key mechanic in Cyberpunk 2077. Allowing players to completely breakdown and analyze a given event, this will surely be a recurring tool throughout gameplay. The first episode of Night City Wire also debuted a brand new trailer for the game, as well as confirming an upcoming anime coming to Netflix. It was announced at the end of the show that CD Projekt RED plans to hold another Night City Wire event in a few weeks. When that goes down, we’ll be here at Shacknews to get you the latest breaking news.
