Dota Underlords datamine points to new heroes and features

Valve recognizes that it appears to have a good thing going with its newest effort, Dota Underlords. The Auto Chess spinoff of its Dota franchise is starting off with just a small handful of the classic MOBA's roster. However, it appears that this will no longer be the case in the months ahead. Intrepid fans have already datamined the latest Dota Underlords client update and have uncovered that Valve is on the verge of inviting more than a couple of Dota heroes to the Auto Chess party.

Tyler McVicker took a look through the latest Dota Underlords patch on the Valve News Network YouTube Channel (via PC Gamer) and found some key information hidden inside. This includes references, skins, and character models for another 16 Dota 2 heroes. They include:

Each hero's current state varies, with McVicker observing that Storm Spirit has a full character model already available. How many of these heroes ultimately make the cut and how soon they do so remains to be seen. They're also not necessarily guaranteed to make the cut, since mere references may just be something used for flavor text or the like. The datamine also points to potential new additions and features, including the Turbo Mode that Valve pointed to days after the open beta's deployment. A replay feature has also been spotted and may be on its way soon.

Dota Underlords is currently in open beta on PC and mobile devices.
