Most players can expect to beat the Super Mario Maker 2 Story Mode in under ten hours. In fact, members of the Shacknews staff attest to a total Story Mode time of around five hours, though we expect that number will be higher for younger players or those less familiar with the genre.
Story Mode in Super Mario Maker 2 is broken down into a number of different jobs. In order to restore the castle to its pristine condition, Mario needs to complete tasks and earn coins in order to fund the construction. Each job has a set difficulty, and the more difficult jobs my cause some players to spend some extra time figuring out the solution.
There are over a hundred total jobs to complete in Super Mario Maker 2 Story mode, and most of the additional jobs provided by characters like the Toads or Undodog tend to be more challenging. Still, when it's all said and done, players likely won't get more than ten hours out of story mode. Good thing the game has infinite replayability thanks to feature that allow users to upload and share custom-created courses.
