Mortal Kombat 11's hype train is full gear. The game releases this month on Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Today, NetherRealm Studios revealed a new playable character. Please take a look at the official Kollector reveal trailer.

Kollector is the latest character added to the Mortal Kombat 11 roster. He has four arms and is apparently a minion of the Outworld Empire. The Kollector appears obsessed with wealth and status and will kill anyone to keep his precious shiny objects.

Here's some more back story from Mortal Kombat 11 press release:

A new fighter joining the Mortal Kombat franchise, The Kollector was born into poverty and seized his collections duty with a zeal that impressed Shao Kahn, becoming one of the Emperor’s most feared associates. As more of a corrupt, mafia enforcer than a government official, The Kollector stole riches from Outworld’s people, rewarding himself with wealth and status in turn, but when Shao Kahn died, Kotal Kahn vowed to weed out the former regime’s corruption. After years in hiding, living off his ill-gotten gains, The Kollector was captured and now faces execution, determined to destroy anyone in his path.

Senior Editor Ozzie Mejia pointed out that Kollector looks like a cross between Goro and Gollum.

Kollector is definitely another lacky for Shao Kahn, but he really is obsessed with money. Lucky for him, he has four arms to hold onto his precious gems and coins. This also sets up an interesting moveset showcased in the reveal trailer. Kollector has a vast array of blades and can come at his opponent from a lot of angles. There are some interesting combos created by having four arms and Kollector has an intriguing balance of slash attacks, grabs and some special items. He has a lantern on his person and a gold ball and chain melee weapon in his lower right hand that seems to do a ton of damage, especially when charged up with his purple power.

Kollector's gold ball and chain melee weapon unleashes serious damage.

Kollector really seems to have a lot in his backpack at his disposal. The gameplay trailer shows him throwing all sorts of stuff at his opponent. Kollector appears to have green and purple attacks that will set up different combos. All we know for now is that Kollector looks like he could own. The potential to chain together attacks with the ball and chain and lantern could lead to some brutal smackdowns.
