Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered gets Switch release date

Published , by Charles Singletary Jr

The Assassin's Creed is running the risk of mirroring the fractured Kingdom Hearts timeline but, before we move on to the next major entry, Ubisoft is taking things a few steps backward. Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered was already announced for other consoles, but the Nintendo Switch version was given a release date during the February Nintendo Direct: May 21, 2019.

Assassin's Creed 3 is the fifth entry in the series and is set during the American Revolution. Players take on the role of Ratonhnhaké:ton, who takes on the name of Connor to blend in. The action game features gameplay set across the Frontier, Boston, and New York City and there are naval conflicts where players captain the ship called Aquila.

The enhanced version of the game will contain the Benedict Arnold and Hidden Secrets single-player missions along with the full narrative spin-off, Assassin's Creed Liberation Remastered. Liberation casts players as Aveline as she unravels the series' fictional history while exploring the streets of New Orleans and ancient Mayan ruins. Both remasters will feature upgraded textures, a new graphics engine, and an overall additional layer of polish to bring the title into the new age. Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered was originally announced for PS4, Xbox One, and PC earlier this month.
