Narrating close to four minutes of footage from Dawn of War II expansion Chaos Rising, lead designer Daniel Kading goes on and on about the dark magic and demonic forces you're up against before revealing your secret weapon: Jonah the Librarian.

He also notes that you'll be exploring a giant derelict space vessel known as a "Space Hulk," and promises that Relic's standalone PC RTS expansion will pack "more of everything that made Dawn of War II itself amazing" when it hits in March 2010.

Shedding further light on the forthcoming showdown between the Blood Ravens and Chaos Space Marines, publisher THQ and developer Relic have released new screenshots from the upcoming Dawn of War II expansion Chaos Rising (PC). Packing 15 new campaign missions along with new multiplayer maps, units, items and the addition of the Chaos Space Marines as a playable faction in multiplayer, the standalone strategy-RPG expansion is slated to arrive in spring 2010.

THQ has released a teaser trailer for Chaos Rising, the upcoming stand-alone expansion to Relic's RTS Dawn of War II.

The expansion--set for a spring 2010 release--adds a new Blood Raven campaign and opens up the Chaos Space Marines race for multiplayer. More details here.

The Chaos Space Marines are coming to Relic's Warhammer 40,000 RTS-RPG hybrid Dawn of War 2 in a standalone expansion titled 'Chaos Rising,' THQ announced today.

Twenty missions once again star the Blood Ravens, continuing from a savegame or starting with a kitted-out squad. The level cap is raised to thirty and new wargear can be found, including powerful Chaos-tainted items with the risk of "dreadful consequences".
