Futuremark's YouGamers website has posted the first part of a Remedy interview, asking Creative Director Petri Järvilehto and Alan Wake project lead Markus Mäki about the company and the games Death Rally and Max Payne. The next installment will deal with the upcoming Alan Wake.

Just got an email from Rockstar officially announcing the Max Payne 2 mod contest, rewarding the talents of aspiring game developers. The contest has three categories: Best Original Mod, Best Dead Man Walking Level, and Best Real-Time Non-Interactive Movie. Prizes include a Falcon Northwest with special Max Payne 2 artwork, an ATI Radeon 9800XT videocard and various Max Payne 2 swag. Yours truly will be one of the judges, along with people from Rockstar, Remedy and Computer Gaming World. So what are you waiting for? Grab the mod tools and get cracking.

Take 2 has released the first Max Payne 2 patch (mirrored on FileShack), updating Remedy's third person shooter to version 1.01. The patch fixes "Exception: Bad Allocation" crashes on Win98/ME machines and improves loading times. Thanks axilla364.

Ack, almost forgot! So here is your Max Payne 2 thread for the day, please do NOT spoil the major plot ploints for people but feel free to discuss the things you like and dislike about the game. So if you have played it, what do you think? Or maybe you have some questions for people who have played it?

As the developer posted here we should hopefully see a playable demo of the game in the near future, and you can also have a look at what Jason had to say in his preview.

According to this post on the 3D Realms forums, the editing tools for Max Payne 2 will be released online some time next week or the week after that (they weren't included on the CD this time). Remedy is also working on tutorials to help people get started.

As you would expect with the U.S. release date being set for tomorrow, Rockstar Games has announced Max Payne 2 is now shipping to stores. The European version will follow on the 24th, and console versions will ship December 3.
