Activision has released a set of six new screenshots from Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades, the sequel to Vicarious Visions' crazy-selling Guitar Hero: On Tour (DS).

Sporting "more than 26" new songs along with duels and multiplayer-only song sharing with the original, the music-rhythm sequel makes use of the guitar grip peripheral for the DS handheld.

Decades, which is assuredly not milking the franchise, arrives on November 16.

Vicarious Visions' follow up to the record-breaking sales of Guitar Hero: On Tour (DS) will hit retailers on Sunday, November 16, publisher Activision has revealed.

Packing "more than 26" new songs, Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades takes players on a whirlwind trip across various musical eras with their Nintendo DS Guitar Grip in hand.

"People are asking for songs, and that's what we're giving them," producer David Nathanielsz told Shacknews during a recent interview. "You mention milking the franchise--I don't think we're doing that."

Along with the new tunes, Decades is multiplayer-compatible with the the original On Tour, which arrived during the summer, allowing duels and multiplayer-only song sharing between the two games.

Interview: Guitar Hero Developer Denies 'Milking;' Discusses Wii-only Mode, DLC and New DS Game

This fall, Vicarious Visions is planning to unleash a double dose of Guitar Hero. Along with the Wii edition of Guitar Hero World Tour, the Activision-owned subsidiary is readying a sequel to Guitar Hero: On Tour, which hit Nintendo DS over the summer.

Unlike past Guitar Hero releases on Wii, World Tour packs more than just the content of Neversoft's PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Vicarious has created Mii Freestyle, a Wii-exclusive mode, meant to carry that "pick up and play appeal" the Wii is known for.

To learn more about World Tour on Wii, and to find why Guitar Hero DS owners should care about the sequel, I checked in with executive producer David Nathanielsz.

David Nathanielsz: We hear so many people saying, "We want more songs. We want more songs!" And so, we're giving them more songs, right?

You mention milking the franchise--I don't think we're doing that. People are asking for songs, and that's what we're giving them. That's what playing Guitar Hero is about, finding those songs--songs you know, songs you don't know--and getting into them. Read on...
