Porting veteran Aspyr Media has announced that it'll be bringing Sid Meier's Civilization V to Apple's shiny white computerators some time this holiday season.

"The Civilization franchise is a fan-favorite and one of the best-selling Mac games ever. We are thrilled to be able to participate in this newest version and bring Mac gamers this native experience so close to the PC launch," said Aspyr executive VP Ted Staloch.

Developed by Firaxis and published by 2K, Civ V came out on PC on September 21. A hefty patch is on the way for the PC edition, as well as downloadable content. Two DLC packs with new races and scenarios are due on October 25, one of which will be free.

I think i am going to wait until the patch drops to play more civ V. As you get on later in you game, it tends to start with the crashing. Or so I've heard.

I've had a few CTD encounters and one game ending glitch (never ending peace treaty).Bugs are okay, I can live with it. It's the really, really unbalanced game mechanics and nudering of the game that breaks it for me.
