So Defense Grid: The Awakening or STALKER on Steam? I don't have enough for both and the sale only last a day. Defense Grid has the Steam Achievements, which I'm a whore for. However, it seems more constricting, gameplay-wise, rather than STALKER which is more open ended. However, I played Clear Sky and my computer really had problems running. Not sure if it's upgrade time or if the STALKER engine itself is taxing and fairly unoptimized. Let me know your opinions, I'd love to hear which one you'd find as the better buy.

Can't spare four dollars and fifty cents for both? Might be worth it to just get both. That being said, I was not a huge fan of Stalker, but really, for 2 bucks it's completely worth running around and experiencing the world, even if you play it for 2 hours.

I only have $4.71 left on this Walmart Moneycard thing my aunt sent me for my birthday so no.. no I don't. Otherwise I would totally buy both of them and throw UT3 on top because I've been wanting to get that for the past 3 years or so.. Money is a luxury.

So....you have 2 bucks but not 4 bucks??? CS had lots of performance issues but if it was completely unplayable then Stalker probably won't fare any better on your rig. Defense Grid is a tower defense game, Stalker is an FPS, so they can't really be compared.

Wait, I just remembered Colorado doesn't tax online..so I do have enough for both. I'm thinking I'll do just that. People are turning this into something more complex than it is, I wasn't comparing the 2 games from different genres. I wanted to know which people personally found more enjoyable and base my decision off that. Problem solved by Steam's wonderfulness once again.
