Carrier Command Screenshots: Launch All Fighters

ArmA developer Bohemia Interactive has released the first screenshots of Carrier Command: Gaea Mission, its reinvention of Realtime Games' classic simulator-strategy hybrid Carrier Command from 1988 for the Commodore 64, Amiga and ZX Spectrum.

"First-person action and true strategic play combine," Bohemia boasts, as you build a network of islands to mine, manufacture and upgrade tech, entering battle yourself in vehicles to undermine and ultimately destroy an enemy carrier with similar objectives.

Carrier Command is slated for release on PC and "next gen consoles" in spring 2010.

I hope it has a vastly upgraded engine to ArmA2.. hopefully a completely reworked animation system and physics..

  I'd say it will be more like a stand-alone Arma2 total conversion mod, with some minor engine tweaks specific to Carrier Command.
  
  I would also guess most of the content will actually be done by Black Element Software while BIS work on Operation Arrowhead stand-alone expansion for Arma2.

    Why would Black Element work on it? They did one expansion that was purely garbage for A1 and I don't think it was well received.

      Well for one, it says so on the CC website.
      
      Also, the domains carriercommand.com and blackelement.net are owned by the same (german?) company (Computer Services Langenbach GmbH dba joker.com) and are probably at the same colo or webhost (81.0.236.100 and 103) while the "real" BIS' websites aren't.
