The studio behind BioShock is now working on a new shooter, entirely unsurprising job listings have confirmed.

2K Boston is seeking a principal combat designer, level designer and a multiplayer level designer to work on the unannounced project.

Studio chief Ken Levine has long been rumored to be leading his team in development of a sequel to the tactical classic X-Com.

    It's either a sequel to X-Com or it's a shooter. It can't be both.

You could make an argument that Fallout 3 is a shooter. Tactical elements, but you can play it like a shooter. And that was based on a tactical series.

That would suck if they took turn based isometric x-com, complete with base building, resource management, research and tech tree's, and made it a FPS.

        I would cry heavily.

But what about the idea of keeping all of that stuff, and replacing the isometric turn-based combat with FPS missions where you lead a squad, ala SWAT 4?

      X-COM: Enforcer disagrees.

Not a sequel, enforcer was just a shitty shooter with the same name as the turn-based classic.

You don't think a shooter in the X-COM universe would kick ass?

It has the potential to totally kickass, but it won't be a sequel.
