Worms developer Team17 today officially announced Alien Breed Evolution, an Unreal Engine 3-powered remake of its 1991 Amiga top-down shooter Alien Breed.

Few details accompanied the announcement, other than that Alien Breed Evolution will be a download-only title with singleplayer and 2-player co-op both local and online. An Xbox 360 release is due late this year, with a PlayStation 3 version planned to follow.
The original Alien Breed saw space marines cleansing a space station of Giger-esque aliens while collecting credits to purchase increasingly flamboyant firearms.
