Namco Bandai's fighter sequel Soul Calibur 4 has sold a total of 2.2 million copies since its July 2008 release, according to the publisher.

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title was reported to have shipped over 2 million copies one week after its July 31 launch.

Namco also reported a profit of $99.7 million for its third quarter ending December 31. The company's 2008 sales were largely supported by Soul Calibur IV, with help from Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit's 730,000 sales.
